For those who want to a harmless little mod for a friend's PlayStation Portable or merely want to give their own handhelds that extra bit of customization, then Yongobongo has you covered with the Firmware Version Spoofer.

It's a handy little homebrew application that lets you change your PSP's displayed firmware version - you can give your custom firmware a name of up to 12 characters - easily and on the fly. Let's take a gander at the accompanying post, unedited and as is:

This program allows you to change your PSP's displayed firmware version 'on-the-go'.

Easy to use interface allows you to quickly enter your desired name (up to 12 characters for this version, maybe more when I have explored the vshctrl a bit more ) and flash it straight to your PSP unit.

This program is for use ONLY on 3.52 M33-4.

Usage:

Press right/left to change the selected variable.

Press up/down to change the data (character) in the selected variable.

Press square to switch betwen upper and lower cases.

Press cross to flash the new vshctrl.prx. Press start to return to text entry after flashing.

Not too complicated, and very easy, wouldn't you say? But please don't be mean: avoid the temptation of fooling your newbie friends into thinking that you've accidentally downgraded their PSP's firmware - or that you've given your own an uber-advanced firmware that Sony only gave to its "super secret fanclub members."

Play nice. The possibilities are endless, if you think hard enough. Just make sure you read the attached readme before installing or using the application. And just in case you missed it, the Firmware Version Spoofer is only for 3.52 M33-4.

Inutile ... Donc totalement indispensable :p . Y'a d'autres choses qui servent " à rien" , mais bon si ça peut en amuser certains ...^^

midnight club 3 que j'ai su y jouer en 1.5 grace à wab changer lol

mais comme il ya un mais je trouve rien d'interessan il emul pas les firmware come pour le vieux Wab version Changer (de bon sevounir 1.50 qui change en 2.01 pour lancer mes umd sans devoir upgarder)

Je croyait que sa fonctionnait pas cet astuce ?? que c'etait seulement pour faire croire que la PSP 1.50 est en 2.70 par exemple mais en aucun cas faire tourner des jeux demander le 2.70?? j'ai du louper une etape de cet histoire alors :snif:
enfin sa remonte a longtemp cet histoire, bref ici c'est juste pour mettre en faux numero de FW sa serviras pas a faire tourner un jeu demandant le (3.80 - exemple) lollll
